Beaded Windows

Beaded Windows

After spending time and money decorating your home, don’t forget to pay attention to your beaded window. Sure, you selected some that looked great from the outside, but now its time to liven up the inside. Beaded windows offer you an opportunity to do just that. There are many styles to select from, so chose one that fits your own taste. Or you can make your own to fir you perfectly.

Beaded Window Treatments

Beaded window shades are a common selection. They can offer elegant decoration to your dining or living room. You can buy these at many stores at reasonable prices, or you can go to a craft store and purchase some beads that you will either glue or sew onto your shades. Select whatever colors and shapes that will show off the feeling you want in the room. If it’s a more formal area of the house where guests are invited over for dinner or relaxing, maybe sticking to one or two conservative colors is a good idea. Perhaps you could use clear beads to reflect candlelight, making occasional glimmers of light. Or maybe you want to decorate your children’s bedroom or the rumpus room. In this situation you might go for something a little more lighthearted. Take the kids along, let them decide for themselves what colors they’d like to decorate. Get them involved and make a family night of it. Really, the one’s the kids make might look a little tacky (you can’t help but notice it), but they’ll always be a reminder of the nights you shared with them, not only the night making the shades themselves, but also of those spent reading them stories before bedtime. Trust me, when the time comes that the kids think they’re too grown up for those “tacky” beaded shades, you’ll learn how much you cherish them.

Beaded Window Cornice

]Some people wish to further decorate their window with a cornice that covers the covers the rod the window treatment hangs from. This can also be an opportunity to add some decoration to the room. Whether you decided to paint it in an elegant deep red with a pencil then gold trim or attached more beads in the same colors and patterns as the shades, you can’t go wrong as long as you do it the way you want to and are happy with the results. After all, if you get tired of the decorative scheme of a room, you can always use a beaded window as an excuse to redecorate.
