Window Poles
The term “window pole” can regard an instrument used to assist in cleaning windows or to a rod installed above the curtain for decorative purposes, often ornamented with curtains or drapes that fall over the interior area of the window or an awning that decorates the outside of the window and protects it from rainfall.
Window Cleaning Poles
Windows are often difficult if not impossible to clean without the aid of tools other than a towel. Even if one stands on a ladder to access unreachable areas of the window, this can be both time consuming and dangerous. Imagine the time wasted climbing up, then having to climb back down to move it to another portion of the window so that you can climb up it again. At your own home this might seem inconvenient. Not to mention that a storey-long fall could cause serious damage, resulting in broken bones and abrasions. The stakes are even higher when we consider buildings that reach several stories high.
Window Washing Extension Poles
With cleaning window poles people can reduce both the time and danger. Much time is saved by using a long instrument to reach higher rather than actually climbing to meet the unreachable areas. By using poles we also eliminate the risk of falling. One type of pole accepts an extension on the handle, making the pole longer so that higher areas can be cleaned. After one has washed the windows closest to the ground, the extension can be added, and the washer can move on to the second story with ease.
Telescopic window poles come in handy when cleaning areas of varying heights. While a five-foot pole might be perfect for cleaning the windows on the first floor, it is completely ineffective for those on the second storey. But a length of pole that’s perfect for cleaning the second storey would be cumbersome when trying to clean the first. Telescopic poles give us the ability to increase and reduce the size of a pole to fit the job at hand, giving versatility to one instrument rather than relying on several different lengths of window poles to get the entire job done. While the advantage to these window poles over regular non-telescopic poles may not be seen during the washing, they are more convenient to store between uses since they are compact and the owner will only have to keep up with one pole rather than a pole and its extensions.
